What to send before your occasion makeup appointment
Start with the details of your day
“I have an event. Is there an appointment?” starts a conversation, but you can give the team a clearer picture in your first message. Include the event type, date, the time you need to be ready and the service you want to discuss. Add a small selection of photographs to explain the look you have in mind.
This is a guide to preparing an enquiry, not a set of mandatory booking requirements. You can ask before you have chosen a look. Explain what is decided and what you still want to discuss with the team.
1. Your event and the full date
Say whether you are enquiring for an engagement, graduation or evening event, and write the day, month and year rather than “next Thursday” or “the end of the month.” If you are considering two dates, present them as options to ask about, rather than two reserved appointments.
The event provides context; it does not have to dictate a makeup style. Mention any clear preference, such as defined eyes with a quieter lip, or something more pronounced than your usual makeup.
2. Your ready-by time, not just the event start time
State when you need to have finished getting ready. If you have photographs or a journey before the event, consider those commitments when explaining your deadline. Ask the team to discuss an appointment and arrival time; your requested deadline is not a confirmed slot.
You do not need to guess the makeup appointment duration or calculate the time needed for hair. Explain the commitments in your day and discuss service order and timing with the team before fixing the rest of your plans.
3. Reference photos with a short explanation
Choose a small set of pictures and explain what you like in each: lip colour, eye definition, shimmer or the overall feeling. MAC’s makeup appointment page also directs customers to look inspiration. Use references to communicate an idea, rather than asking for an exact copy of an entire photograph.

For example: “I like the eye definition here, but I would prefer a lighter lip colour.” If you have saved a look from Dina’s website or Instagram, send it with a note about the detail that attracted you. A large album is less useful if you cannot explain what you want from it.
4. Outfit and hair: what have you decided?
If you have chosen your outfit, you can add a picture or describe its colour and any details you want to discuss alongside the makeup. Outfit-based ideas, such as Charlotte Tilbury’s published examples, can help organize your inspiration. They are options to explore, not rules that dictate your colours or look.

Explain whether you want makeup only or would also like to ask about hair styling. Send a separate hair reference if you have one. Ask whether both services can be arranged for your date and what each includes, rather than assuming hair is included or the appointment order is settled.
5. Your preferences and questions before visiting
Mention what you enjoy and what you would prefer to avoid, even in simple terms: a colour you dislike wearing, less shine or more eye definition. If the team needs a current photograph or further information, ask what is required and share only what is relevant. Personal identity documents are not needed to describe a makeup look.
Ask whether there are preparation instructions or anything you need to bring. Do not assume another salon’s instructions apply, or that extra products or services are included. Confirm timing, details and booking terms directly with the team.
A message you can adapt
“Hello Dina, I would like to enquire about occasion makeup for __ on __ / __ / __. I need to be ready by __. I would like makeup only / to ask about makeup and hair. I like __ and would prefer to avoid __, and I have reference photos. Could you confirm availability, service details and a suitable arrival time?”
Delete the option that does not apply and attach your references with a short explanation. If your date or ready-by time changes during the conversation, send the new details and ask the team to reconfirm the arrangement. This is an enquiry-follow-up suggestion, not a statement of the salon’s rescheduling policy.
Confirm the details before arranging your day
Before visiting, make sure the team has confirmed your date, arrival time, requested service and agreed details. A time falling within opening hours, or a WhatsApp message being sent, does not mean an appointment has been reserved.
You can enquire with Dina about makeup for engagements, graduations and evenings. The salon is on Yathreb Street in Dabouq, Amman, opposite Dabouq Village. The occasion makeup and hair page includes the confirmed Maps link and contact options. Use it to continue your enquiry and confirm your appointment directly with the team.
